On Monday 3 August 2009 the Magiglo brand and the full range of Magiglo products was acquired by Burley Appliances. Burley is a leading UK manufacturer of electric and flueless gas fires, as well as the Straxgas range of fires.

Product Improvements
The Aria 16" is now available with a choice of our Standard and Profile trims, in addition to the specific Aria trims due to a specially designed adapter. The Concept balanced flue is now available as a floor mounted installation with a specific black trim and a choice of one of our 22" frets.

Magiglo acquisition and restructure
Broadstairs based gas fire maker Magiglo, has acquired the Suncrest Surrounds business based in Peterlee County Durham, from Jourdan Plc. Formed in 1970, Suncrest is the UK's leading dedicated manufacturer of mantelpieces, electric suites and fires. Suncrest operates its timber and metal working facilities in County Durham and Staffordshire.
Magiglo Managing Director & Chairman, Clive Le Baigue commented “The UK fire and fire place market grows ever more competitive and requires manufacturers to be creative in design and new technology. The acquisition of Suncrest means that our company now has the most sophisticated and technically advanced fireplace manufacturing units in the world and offers great scope for further expansion. Suncrest Surrounds and Magiglo are to become subsidiaries of a newly formed holding company, CJ Group Limited. The companies will continue to trade as separate entities for the foreseeable future.
